Bulletin 4 – Additional Event Information

Event Centre Schema

Event Center is located in the Riga Culture Secondary School..
No spiked or studded shoes allowed in the building of Event Center, except for read-out of the SI cards after the finish (stay on carpet).

Registration

Number bibs – at the Event Center, please, help yourselves (please, find your bib number on the Startlist).
Payment of entry fee – at the registration.
Hired SI cards – at the registration.

Map

Made in 2013 and 2018. Scale 1:4000, contours 2m. Mapmakers: Egīls Puriņš, Mikus Puriņš. Size A4 (21x29.7cm). Specification ISSOM-2007.
Special symbol:
× (black cross) – sports and recreational structure (swing, playground structures);
Control descriptions – on the map, also available at the pre-start. Size of control descriptions 10-14 cm x 6 cm.

Warm-up area and start

Warm-up area to the north of the school, along Ganibu dambis street. 
Distance from the Event center to the start 600m.
Please, take a warm-up map at the Event center.
WC in the school building, there are no WC at the start.
There will be a tent at the start. Warm-up clothes will be transported to the Event center.
There will be a special start lane for OPEN classes with free starting time between 11:00 and 12:30.

SPORTident punching

Punching, both, with contactless SIAC cards and regular SI cards of any model.

Punching – in contactless mode.
When entering the pre-start area, the competitor
  • clears the card – station "Clear"
  • initiates contactless mode of the SIAC card – station "Check"
  • may check operation of contactless mode – station "SIAC Test" (optional)
The punch takes place at the control and finish when the card is in the <30cm proximity of the station.
It is a competitor's responsibility to ensure that the electronic punch is in the card (optical and acoustical feedback signals). In the case of missing feedback signal the card should be placed into the station.

When entering the pre-start area, the competitor
  • clears the card – station "Clear"
  • checks the card – station “Check”

Punching for OPEN classes

Please, follow the above instructions – depending on the type of your card.
Additionally – check your card in the station "Start" at the start moment.

Dangerous areas

Near the first control (M12, W12, OPEN-S – near the second control) there are concrete structures on the ground level, with holes. Please, be very careful. 
Traffic will not be stopped during competition. The competitors should pay attention to the traffic when running in the streets. When crossing the streets, please, make sure there is no traffic! For the classes WE, ME, M16, M18, M21, M35, M45, the courses cross a tram line (3 trams per hour).
Riga Municipality requirement – competitors shall follow the traffic rules!

Īpaši noteikumi un atgādinājumi

It is forbidden to cross features marked on the map as impassable – fences, walls, flower beds, private territories etc.!
This rule applies also to features, which are physically passable. For example, a wall may be low from the one side (higher base level) – still forbidden to cross. It is prohibited to cross areas shown on the map as out-of-bounds (purple vertical stripes). Competitors, who will not obey these rules, will be disqualified.

Controls are located closely to each other, minimum distance between controls 25m. Please, be careful and check the control numbers!

Finish

After the finish, please, go to the Registration to read-out your SI card.
