Event center – Regional Sports Center "Sarkandaugava", Sarkandaugavas iela 24 (arrival from Limbažu iela)

Competitors'  parking along the streets – outside the embargoed area, following the traffic rules. 
Please, be aware that free space for parking is very limited. There is more free space next to the Sarkandaugava railway stop. 
Organisers recommend to use public transportation:
  • Tram No 5, stop "Allažu iela" – 300m to the Event Centre – schedule
  • Trolleybus No 3, final stop "Sarkandaugava" – 650m – schedule
  • Bus No 2, stop "Sarkandaugava" – 850m – schedule
  • commuter train, stop "Sarkandaugava" – 1km – schedule

  9:30 - 11:00 Arrival of competitors, registration
 11:15 For Elite classes – entry into quarantine zone closed, distance from Event Center to quarantine zone entry – 550m
11:00 - 12:30 Start, by draw (free starting time for open classes), distance from Event Center to Start – 1.3km
13:30 Prize giving ceremony

Classes

M/W Elite – the best orienteers, no age limit
Age classes: M/W – 12, 14, 16, 18, 21, 35, 45, 55, 65, 75
Direct classes: DIR1 (short course), DIR2 (long course) – no advance registration required

Courses, starting order, punching

Foot orienteering, Sprint course

For Elite and Age Classes

Starting order by draw, for Elite classes according to WRE rules
For Elite classes – quarantine zone before the start
Starting interval 1 minute
SportIdent punching, for elite classes – SIAC in contactless mode
Winning times for all courses 12-15 min. 

For Open Classes

Free starting time between 11:00 and 12:30
SportIdent punching
Competitors register at the Event Centre and choose between 2 courses: DIR1 (short course), DIR2 (long course)  

Terrain and Map

Terrain: urban area – streets, yards, parks, recreational areas
Map: made in 2016 – 2017, map specification ISSOM-2007scale 1:4000, contours 2m, size of the map A4 (12 x 29.7 cm)

Dangerous Areas

Traffic will not be stopped during competition. The competitors should pay attention to traffic when running in the streets. When crossing the streets, please, make sure there is no traffic! The courses will cross the tram line (3 trams per hour).
Riga City Council requirement - competitors shall follow the traffic rules!

Regular entry fee – for competitors, who register on/before 11 April, and pay entry fee by cash on the day of competition.
Discounted entry fee – for competitors who register and pay entry fee by bank transfer to the bank account of OK Mona on/before 11 April.
Legal persons can request invoice at parks@mona.lv. Please,specify your payment details.
Late entry fee – for competitors who have missed the entry deadline of 11 April.
To register changes for an entered competitor on the day of competition:
  • change of competitor, change of class € 2.00;
  • change of SI-card number – free of charge.
In the case of no-show, the entered competitors pay 50%.
For open classes DIR1 and DIR2 competitors register at the day of competition, and make cash payment.

Prizes

Prize:
  • to the winners of first six places in the Elite classes, and
  • to the winners of first three places in the Age classes.

Special Rules

Competitors participate at their own risk.
Competitors are not allowed in the competition area before the start; competitors are only allowed in the Event Center and warm-up area before the start.
Competitors of Elites classes shall be inside the quarantine zone before the start. Entry into the quarantine zone will be closed at 11:15.
Competitors are responsible for observing the correct starting times.
Competitors who have finished their courses may not contact competitors who have not started yet!

Other information

Sprint participants may register also for Trail-O. They will be offered late Trail-O starting times – after finishing the sprint course.
